Community Guidelines

Tripfolk works because strangers are willing to show up and meet each other. That only holds if the app stays a place people feel safe. These rules are how we keep it that way — and we do enforce them.

Be a real person

Use your own photos, with your face visible in at least one.
One account. Do not impersonate anyone.
You must be 18 or over. No exceptions.

Be decent

No harassment, threats, hate speech or slurs — about anyone, for any reason including race, religion, nationality, gender, sexuality or disability.
"No" is a complete sentence. If someone stops replying, that is your answer.
No sexual content: no nudity in photos, no explicit messages to people who have not invited them.

Tripfolk is not a marketplace

No selling, promotion, recruiting or link-dropping.
No asking members for money, gifts, crypto or help with a transfer. Anyone who does this is running a scam — report them.
No commercial tours or paid services advertised as plans.

Plans are commitments

Post plans you actually intend to show up to.
If you cannot make it, cancel in the app so people are not left waiting.
Do not post a plan at your home address. Public places only.

Meeting safely

Meet in public the first time. Tell someone where you are going. Arrange your own transport. Trust your instincts and leave if something feels wrong — you never owe anyone an explanation.

Reporting

Every profile, plan and message has a report option. Reports go to a human, not a filter. Tell us what happened — the detail box matters, it is often the difference between a warning and a ban.

Blocking is instant and mutual: you disappear from each other's app, you are removed from each other's plans, and your shared conversation is silenced. The other person is not told they were blocked.

For anything urgent involving a minor or a threat to someone's safety, email safety@tripfolk.app. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

What happens when you break the rules

Level	What it means
Warning	Recorded on your account. Nothing changes yet.
Restriction	Time-limited. You cannot create plans or send messages during it.
Content removal	The plan, photo or message goes; your account stays.
Ban	Permanent. All sessions are ended immediately.

Threats, sexual content involving minors, and fraud skip straight to a ban. Every decision is logged, so if you appeal to appeals@tripfolk.app we can see exactly what was decided and why.
